The Maldives, and ten other climate vulnerable countries, last week adopted the Declaration of the Climate Vulnerable Forum.

The Declaration voices alarm at the rapid pace of climate change, concern that climate change poses an “existential” threat to their countries and peoples, and commitments to show moral and political leadership in the face of the climate crisis.

The Declaration says that the countries who have signed it are “convinced that those countries which take the lead in embracing the future will be the winners of the 21st Century.”
