This weekend, Jeni and I will attend an Advocacy Training at the David Brower Center in Berkeley. The training is hosted by the Women’s Earth Alliance in partnership with the Indigenous Environmental Network. The purpose of the training is to build capacity among advocates for strategic collaboration with North American Indigenous women on environmental justice.
Confirmed speakers include Carolyn Raffensperger (a Three Degrees Conference presenter), Matt Pawa (who will be arguing the Kivalina case before the 9th Circuit next month), and a host of other indigenous rights advocates and lawyers who we are very excited to meet.
Are you going to be in the Bay Area this weekend? If so, the Women’s Earth Alliance is hosting a salon on Friday evening. The event is called “Steadying the Seasons: Indigenous peoples on the frontlines of climate change in North America.” Tickets are $15 in advance; $18 at the door.
