Mapping the Climate Movement: An Interactive
Network Database

In order to craft multidisciplinary strategies for adapting to climate change, Three Degrees seeks to undertake the world’s first effort to create an extensive social and political map of the emerging climate justice movement. This effort will help climate justice advocates to leverage social networks and create new alliances, build human and legal capital, and understand the larger context in which they work.

Climate Adaptation Analysis and Pro-Bono Consulting

We partner directly with impacted peoples to understand how climate impacts will affect their communities and to leverage new and existing legal tools to address these challenges.

Climate Justice Tribunals

Three Degrees seeks to work with fellow partners to support the hosting of a climate justice tribunal in an impacted community. The tribunal would be the first of its kind to convene local citizens, governments and other stakeholders around a contentious climate justice issue. The issue-driven meeting would provide a public forum where recommended socially binding policies can initiate further legal change, if appropriate.

Follow the Money

Three Degrees will act as a watchdog over the allocation of adaptation funding. Current and future cap and trade markets and international climate agreements will catalyze a certain degree of wealth transfer for improving poor countries’ ability to mitigate and adapt to climate harms. We will work to ensure that new financial mechanisms channel aid to the places where it’s needed most, and we will serve as witness to allocations that serve unintended beneficiaries.
